Hi, September C. Fawkes here. Sometimes I scare people with my enthusiasm for writing. I work as a freelance editor, writing instructor, and award-winning writing tip blogger. I have edited for both award-winning and best-selling authors, as well as beginning writers. My approach has been described as “thorough,” “precise,” and “kind,” and I'm known for diving deep into the craft. I’d love to find a way to help take your writing to the next level.

For over ten years, I’ve been doing just that: helping writers. My blog has over 500 writing tips, and has won the Writer’s Digest 101 Best Websites for Writers Award and Query Letter’s Top Writing Blog Award. I offer a live, online writing course, “The Triarchy Method,” where I personally guide 10 students through developing their best books. I serve as a resident writing coach on Writers Helping Writers, and I write articles for My Story Doctor. And, of course, I edit fiction (which is probably why you are here).

Previous to freelancing, I worked with New York Times best-selling author David Farland, editing his workshop students' manuscripts, writing assignments, and David's own books. Before that, I served as a managing editor of a literary journal and tutored at a writing center while finishing my English degree. Some may say I need to get a social life. It'd be easier if my fictional one wasn't so interesting.
